Our Play Based Programs

Arise Preschool is a half-day preschool operating on a modified traditional Wake County school schedule. We serve children ages 3–5 in large, language-rich classrooms designed to support communication, curiosity, and social growth.

Our play-based approach creates a fun, engaging learning experience where children learn through hands-on exploration, meaningful interaction, and joyful discovery. For more information about our programs please contact us

Special Needs/Developmental Services

Arise Preschool is committed to making sure every child thrives in their preschool environment.  If you have a child with special needs who is receiving developmental services, please indicate what services they are receiving on your registration form. The Director will review the information and meet with the parents to determine if the child’s needs can be met at Arise Preschool.

ESL-English as a Second Language
Arise Preschool welcomes ESL students into our program. Immersion with one’s peers has been proven to be successful with children that are learning the English language. However, unlike public schools that receive state funding for ESL specialists, Arise Preschool is not resourced for students that are unable to communicate their needs in English. For this reason, we may cap the amount of ESL students we accept into our program.

Toilet Training

All children in the 3, 4- and 5-year-old classes must be toilet trained. We do not potty train; but will ASSIST you in the process. This means the child INITIATES or INFORMS the teacher when he/she must use the potty. We know that preschool children need support in this initiation, so Arise Preschool will support/accommodate a child when initiating a trip to the bathroom. We are unable to accommodate a “schedule” where the child is trained only if taken at a certain time each day. This is not conducive to preschool classroom time. We do understand the first 6-8 weeks of school can be an adjustment for a child who has recently been potty trained and an occasional accident or setback may occur during this time; however, if a child is clearly not exhibiting the signs of readiness after this transitional time, teachers will contact you regarding the best option for your child.

Signs that a child is ready to initiate trips to the bathroom:
  • Child asks to use the toilet.
  • Child can communicate to teacher they need to use the bathroom.
  • Child is aware when soiled.
  • Child can consistently stay dry 2-3 hours at a time.
